Project Overview

ResQ is a healthcare management web app built during a hackathon to assist elderly patients and caregivers. It offers features like appointment booking, medication reminders, ambulance services, and email notifications, aiming to simplify elderly care and emergency handling.

The project addresses the critical need for a reliable elderly care assistance system. It solves the common problem of missed medications and appointments by providing a centralized platform for patients and caregivers to manage healthcare tasks, thus reducing stress and improving health outcomes.

Key Skills & Design Process

01. Skills Gained

The main challenge was building a feature-rich healthcare management system in just two days. This included implementing medication reminders, appointment management, and emergency services while ensuring data security and a user-friendly interface under a tight deadline.

02. Design Process

We delivered a functional prototype by focusing on core priorities. We rapidly developed a full-stack web app using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, with a focus on authentication, scheduling, and medication reminders.

03. Tools & Software

The tech stack included Node.js, Express, and MongoDB for the backend. The frontend was built with EJS, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. For authentication and security, we used JWT, bcryptjs, and express-session.

04. Client & Development

Key features include appointment scheduling, medication reminders with email notifications via SendGrid, and ambulance booking with live tracking. The system also handles user authentication and session management.
